Rhoda Macdonald is one of the UK’s leading Public Affairs practitioners. In December 2011 she was made Freelancer of the Year by Public Affairs News, the most prestigious industry award for UK public affairs. In 2010 she was awarded PR Week’s Best Public Affairs Campaign and the Sabre Award for Best UK Public Affairs Campaign, 2010 for her work supporting the Hebrides Range Task Force.
Rhoda has worked at the highest levels within the industry and within Government. Previous clients include HSBC, Heineken, BAE Systems and Danone. She is a former Special Adviser to the Rt Hon Baroness Helen Liddell, Secretary of State for Scotland, a member of the UK cabinet. This gave her extensive insight into the workings of Government and a comprehensive network of contacts across all of the political parties, at all levels.
Rhoda worked for nearly 20 years in the media in Scotland, as a programme presenter and producer. She is also an award-winning television producer, including a Bafta for Best Documentary in 1999. She became Head of Public Affairs for SMG in 2000 and devised and implemented their lobbying strategy for the last Communications Act.
