Andrew Dunlop
Managing Director
Founder of Politics International, Andrew started his career in international
banking before joining the Conservative Research Department, first as an adviser
on Trade & Industry matters, and then as head of its Political Section. He
went on to become Special Adviser to the Secretary of State for Defence, and
in 1988 became an adviser to the Prime Minister as a member of the Downing Street
Policy Unit. During his two and a half year tour in the Unit, he covered
a range of policy areas in the economic and social fields. Andrew works
for a broad range of clients, specialising in the transport, defence, and financial
services sectors. He also advises clients involved in mergers and acquisitions,
co-ordinating Politics International’s Competition & Regulation Practice. Andrew
has a Post Graduate Diploma in European Competition Law from King's College,
London.

Amanda Cunningham
Director
Amanda joined Politics International in 1994 and was appointed to the Board
in 2000. She manages all company operations, including human resources,
finance, administration, new business and marketing. She is responsible
for staff recruitment, training and development and manages the monitoring and
information team. Amanda is the company’s quality manager and has steered
the company through Investors in People recognition. She holds the IoD’s
Diploma in Company Direction.

David Massingham
Director
David originally worked for a campaigning environmental organisation before
becoming a policy adviser in local government. He was a senior civil servant
in the Departments of Environment and Transport and the Cabinet Office. David
joined Politics International in 1995 and specialises in environmental and energy
policy, and in particular on planning, land use, waste management and pollution
control and renewable energy. David co-ordinates Politics International’s
Local Solutions Practice, including specialist community liaison and consultation. He
was appointed to the Board in 1999.

Stephen Bramall
Director
Steve worked for 15 years at the Department of Transport, where he advised
ministers on a range of transport policy issues and oversaw four Transport Bills
through Parliament. For two years, he was Principal Private Secretary to
successive ministers of state for transport including Sir David Mitchell and
Michael Portillo. Steve joined Politics International in 2005 and works across
the range of PI’s transport clients, providing specialist advice including
in support of clients’ bids for public sector contracts.

David Carnell
Monitoring Executive
David graduated from the University of Leeds with a BA (Hons) degree in Political
Studies in 2004. Prior to joining Politics International as a monitoring
executive in 2005, David worked as a project technician for Atkins Global.

Bill Clare
Political Consultant
Bill joined Politics International in 2006 after ten years in a series of
high-level government, media and political positions in the Diplomatic Service,
10 Downing Street and the House of Commons. Foremost amongst these was as Press
Officer to the Prime Minister. Prior to that, he had been Private Secretary to
both Conservative and Labour Foreign Office ministers on either side of the 1997
election, before moving to the FCO Press Office. He and his family had previously
served in Iran, the US and Finland.
More recently, Bill has been Chief of Staff to Dr Liam Fox MP, who during
this period was variously Conservative Party Chairman and Shadow Foreign, Defence
and Health Secretary. Bill ran his 2005 party leadership campaign. He also ran
the press campaign for Michael Howard’s successful leadership bid and works
across a range of clients, focusing on the defence and aerospace sectors.

Stephen Edwards
Political Consultant
Stephen graduated from the London School of Economics in 1999 with an MSc
in European Politics and Policy. He started his political career as a researcher
at the Foreign Policy Centre before joining Politics International as a monitoring
executive in 2000. Stephen worked on the UK’s first electronic political
campaign for the Labour Party during the Mayoral election 2000, applying this
experience again during the 2001 general election. He is a member of the
Politics Informed editorial board and is a regular contributor to the company’s
newsletter. Stephen co-ordinates Politics International’s European
Union public affairs team and is a member of the company’s Communications
Practice.

Nicole Fuller
Monitoring Assistant
Nicole is working at PI on a 12 month placement from the University of Bath
where she is studying for a Politics with Economics degree. Nicole works
in the company’s monitoring unit. Nicole is responsible in particular for
monitoring the political parties, devolved assemblies and the European Union.
She provides support and research for all our teams and clients.

Nick Gash
Associate Consultant
Nick has been an Associate Consultant with Politics International since January
2007. Since 2004 he has developed his own successful consultancy offering policy
advice and bespoke communications audits and personal development training. Before
that Nick worked for the National Union of Students as the National Director. His
work with NUS gave him extensive experience in designing and running training
programmes dealing with a variety of complex institutions. The experience has
left Nick with a unique insight into high profile campaigning and an invaluable
network of political and business contacts.
Nick has particular expertise in the education and skills arena but has broad
experience of public policy at a national and local level. He is a Non-Executive
Director of the West Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust.

George McGregor
Director
George was Special Adviser to Rt Hon Helen Liddell MP, Secretary of State
for Scotland, before joining Politics International in 2004. In this role,
he took lead responsibility for ensuring partnership working between the UK Government
and the Scottish executive, and shaped media strategy for the department. Previously
he was Scottish policy and research officer for public services union UNISON,
playing a key campaigning role. A former member of Labour's National Policy
Forum, he was responsible for drafting sections of Labour's Scottish manifesto
for the 2001 General Election.

Jaishree Narayanan
PA/Office Manager
Jaishree Narayanan has a postgraduate degree in Financial Economics and worked
in India as a financial journalist before becoming a business analyst with the
Bombay based Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE). She moved to the UK
and joined Politics International in 1998 as Information Manager. Jay co-ordinates
Politics International’s IT network and manages the office. She is responsible
for monitoring the European Union.

Ben Ruffels
Political Consultant
Ben graduated from the University of Manchester with a BsocSc (Hons) degree
in Politics in 1998, and an MA (Econ) Political Science in 1999. He worked
for the specialist information team of The Bankers Almanac at Reed Business Information
before joining Politics International as a researcher in 2002. Ben was
promoted to a consultant in 2003 and specialises in the financial services sector.

Harry Smith
Political Consultant
Harry graduated from the University of Bath in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) in Politics
with Economics. He first worked at Politics International in 2004 as part of
his degree where he was a Monitoring Assistant, providing information, support
and political intelligence to Politics International’s clients. Harry also
coordinates Politics International’s training course, Politics Explained,
and supports the company’s select committee training service. He is a regular
contributor to Politics Informed, the company’s newsletter.
He also works as an Account Executive for Politics International’s clients
in the Consumer and Leisure, Transport and Public Services sectors including
SABMiller, St John Ambulance, IAPRA and Halton Borough Council. His work in these
areas focuses on stakeholder engagement and management at local, national and
international levels. Harry is a member of the Labour Party and a member of the
Chartered Institute of Public Relations. He is currently studying for the CIPR
Advanced Certificate in Public Relations at Birkbeck College, University of London.

Brian Wadsworth
Associate Consultant
Formerly the Director for Strategic Roads, Planning and National Networks
at the Department for Transport, Brian has over 30 years experience of working
on transport policy. Brian continues as Chairman of the Board of the European
Maritime Safety Agency, a position which he has held since 2003. He has
a global reputation in the shipping, ports and logistics sectors, having led
the Department’s multimodal freight and logistics activities, as Director
of Logistics and Maritime Transport, for 10 years. He also served as Chairman
of the international Consultative Shipping Group between 1999 and 2007.
During the 1980s Brian was extensively involved in transport sector privatisation
and restructuring programmes. He led the liberalisation and privatisation
of the rail freight sector and subsequently served as an adviser on transport
issues to the World Bank. He has worked at British Airways and in the
road transport sector. In his earlier career, Brian served as Private Secretary
to two Ministers of Transport.
Brian also has significant experience of modernising Government services,
having led a multiple award-winning project to modernise lorry and bus operator
licensing, simplify regulation and improve compliance

Lee Whitehill
Consultant
Lee was Head of Campaigns and Internal Communications at Amicus before joining
PI as a consultant in 2005. In his former role he was responsible for driving
high profile campaigns on behalf of the Union, at both a national and European
level. A co-founder of the Corporate Social Responsibility Foundation,
Lee has previously worked for the Labour Party, most recently during the 2005
General Election. Lee holds the Chartered Institute of Public Relations
Diploma and focuses on PI’s defence and aerospace clients.

Melanie Worthy
Consultant
Melanie Worthy joined Politics International as a political consultant providing
specialist advice on public policy issues facing financial services companies
and its public stakeholders. Melanie brings considerable expertise in financial
services having worked for 20 years in the sector: within financial services
regulation, for the Financial Services Authority (FSA), as a policy adviser for
the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the Investment Management Association
(IMA) and as a strategy consultant. She also contributes articles in the regulatory
and public affairs financial services arena.

Katie Wyglendacz
Political Consultant
Katie graduated from the University of Bath with a BSc (Hons) Politics with
Economics in 2003. She worked as an intern for a year in Politics International’s
monitoring unit as part of her degree, and re-joined Politics International in
2003. Katie was promoted to consultant in 2005 and works on a range of
clients, predominantly in the leisure and transport sectors. She is a
member of the Politics Informed editorial board and is a regular contributor
to the company’s newsletter.

Audrey Yvernault
Political Consultant
Audrey graduated from Cardiff University with a BscEcon in Politics and was
awarded the John Cross Prize for Politics. She worked in the House of Commons
Library for a year, gaining in-depth knowledge of parliamentary processes, and
has since gained several years experience in political consultancy. Audrey
has particular expertise of the planning sector and local and regional stakeholder
management, with experience of controversial and environmental issues. She
also has experience in education and health policy - the latter at both a national
and an EU level.
Audrey joined Politics International as a consultant in 2005 and works across
the range of PI’s clients including Cory, EADS, the Wellcome Trust and
the Met Office.
